We live in Ontario and are planning to go west through the same area in summer 2020…I’m planning now so your information is very helpful. One question: we typically stay at KOAs in US because they’re the Holiday Inns of RV travel and have full services. I note that you are staying in National Parks—why? Cost? More scenic? I’m worried about giving up full services of our RV to do that. Thanks for any comments. Ellen

Hello Henry,

The E 04 error code typically is a heat pump error and resetting the t/stat might make it go away? According to the Dometic manual I have you press the + button and the on/off button at the same time for a few seconds until the display shows ? Release and push the on/off button to turn it off. Push the on/off button again to turn it on and it should be reset.

Thanks,

Hello David,

Proper tire inflation/pressure can only be determined by weighing the rig and checking the tire chart. The inflation shown on the side of the tire is MAX pressure at MAX weight. Go to a CAT Scale which you can find at a Flying J or Pilot Truck Stop and for a truck and trailer place the front wheels on the first pad, the back wheels on the second, and the trailer on the third. For motorhomes, place the front wheels on the first pad, the back wheels on the second, and a towed vehicle if applicable on the third. Get the weights and divide by the number of tires. To be more specific, you should have your rig weighed by individual wheel position as it is common for vehicles to weigh more on one side than the other due to heavy items like residential refrigerators, large slide room, generators etc. Plus how you load your compartments can cause more weight on one side or the other. Visit http://www.rvsafety.com to see where the weighing teams are at. Worse case, get it weighed at a CAT Scale and visit http://www.rvsafety.com to find your tire chart, find the weight, dual or single, and you will find the proper inflation. If you tire is wearing in the center, you probably have more pressure than is recommended for the weight, therefore the thread has a tendency to curl upward on the sides?

Thanks,

I’m afraid it’s going to stop working on a 95 degree day.
