The battery operates the 12vdc side of the camper. There are two voltage sources, 120vAC and12vDC. The breakers for the camper are powered by 120vAC shore power voltage. The breakers do not get power from the battery. The breakers functions off of 120v shore power to operate things like outlets, air conditioner, microwave, TV, and some other appliances. These components will not operate off of the battery. The fuse panel is powered by the 12vDC battery voltage. If you look at your fuse panel, all of those listed circuits are powered by the battery. The 12v fuse panel usually consists of components like the lights, water pump, radio, monitor panel, furnace, awning, slide outs, and the fridge (control board). If none of those components are functioning off of the battery, there could be a few things wrong. If you have a battery disconnect switch, make sure it is in the “on” position. Also double check to make sure all connections at the battery are correct. There can sometimes be an inline fuse near the battery following the main positive wire, make sure this fuse and connection is good. The next thing to check would be the main fuse panel and make sure none of the fuses are blown. If the fuses are good, you then want to check the ground wire from the fuse panel. Check the panel for a bare wire metal wire that should go through the floor and connect to the chassis framing. If this connection broke, it can prevent the 12v system from working properly. I hope this was helpful!Sincerely,DanRV Lifestyle and Repair Technical Expert

What is the purpose of my battery if it shows I have 3/4 battery life, but nothing is working?

Just plugged in the battery for the first time this year. Batteries fine because it ran the RV. But the switch won’t come on.
