Deep Cleaning Blackwater Tanks with the Valterra RV Hydroflush
Dave SolbergFor the sensors in your black- and grey-water tanks on your RV to function properly and give you an accurate read on their capacity, they need to be thoroughly cleaned when dumping both tanks. It's typically not enough simply to drain the tanks and hope all the crud, gunk and buildup got wiped away. Some RVers have tried dumping a few bags of ice down the hatch or spraying down a wand through the toilet, but we're not so sure those do the trick.
RV maintenance and repair expert Dave Solberg recently came across a product that he thinks does do the trick: the Valterra RV Hydroflush. This clever device is perfect for breaking up plugged tanks and fully cleaning out tanks that need a deeper rinse. It comes in 45- and 90-degree models, whichever is best suited for your rig and its tanks.
