Things to Leave in Your Camper Between RV Trips

Packing an RV for each trip is a process. To reduce the number of things you have to bring on each trip, consider leaving a few things in your RV all the time. RV Lifestyle and Repair Contributors Jason and Lisa McEwen show you what they keep in their Mini Rockwood Lite.

Pots and Pans

When it’s mealtime, you’ll need pots, pans, and cookie sheets to make the magic happen. Just about every RV meal plan requires a pan or two. Rather than hauling pots and pans from your home to the RV each time, consider getting a set for the RV.

If you’re in your RV full-time, you may want a top-of-line set, but if you’re using your RV for family vacations, a cheaper set will work.

Kitchen utensils

Head to the dollar store and stock up on utensils. Get the basics like spatulas, serving spoons, rubber spatulas, whisks, vegetable peelers, and a pizza cutter.

Additional utensils you’ll need but you might not think of:

– Can opener
– A foldable strainer or one that clips to the side of pans
– Meat thermometer
– Grilling utensils

Small appliances

There may be a handful of small appliances that you’d like to keep in your camper too, like a toaster or coffee maker. Some RVers have a Crockpot or Instant Pot with them. The McEwen girls love waffles, so they keep a small waffle iron in the camper.

Bathroom items

You can keep a set of toiletries in the camper. Everything from shampoo and conditioner to moisturizers and hair products can live in your medicine cabinet.

Cleaning supplies

RVers usually carry cleaning products. Everything from septic cleaners to dish soap can be purchased and left in the camper to help you keep your interior and RV bathroom fresh.

Food storage supplies

You can keep a supply of foil, plastic wrap, sandwich bags, and reusable containers in the RV.

Bedding

While you’ll need to take it out to wash it on occasion, you can store bedding in your RV. You can even wash it at a campground, so you don’t have to take it home.

What not to leave in your camper

– Anything that’s wet, like towels or bathing suits
– Batteries
