It is definitely near the top of the list we have going. There have been a lot of suggestions and we make videos based on what comes in for repair. This is an issue that should have a video as it is a pretty involved repair. Unfortunately it is a common issue so hopefully it won’t be too long before we have a good instructional video on how to repair it. Here is a quick description on typically what needs to be done. Going under the flooring and across there will be joists. Usually the best thing to do where there is a damaged area that size is to cut out all of the flooring within the joist, cutting it to leave half of the good flooring over the joist so you can cut a new piece of plywood and install it over the joists for support. You can always tack in more supports on the sides of the joists if you don’t want to try to combine the two pieces on one support. Doing this can actually make the floor more solid too. As for the vinyl on top, I always recommend replacing the whole thing. You can try to add a piece to just the damaged area but it is hard to get the seams to stay down well and look nice. You can add a threshold piece over the seam to help secure it if you are OK with that being there. This is how I would recommend doing it, technically there are some faster ways to get by with the repair but they won’t be as sturdy so I always prefer to do this. I hope it helps!

      Sincerely,
