      Hello Pervis,

      Thank you for contacting us.

Those specs vary on what size of RV you are looking for. I will say that most gas RV’s will struggle in a way through mountainous areas. Diesel is the best option for traveling in the mountains. They will handle the hills much better than gasoline systems. If the models you are looking at are gas only then you will have to determine the best specs per GVWR of them and see which has more power based on the size.

If you have any other concerns, please contact us at 1-855-706-3536, or chat with us on our site.

      We greatly appreciate your business!

      Hello Jean-Pierre,
Here’s what the experts had to say about your question:

I am not sure what would be orange on the slide out unless something was painted like that from the manufacture. There are many different types of slide systems and it is possible something used this but I couldn’t tell you what it might be.

      Hello Dallas,
Here’s what the experts had to say about your question:

On trailers it is best to set the tires to the maximum PSI unless otherwise stated from the manufacture. On trailers, radial tires are used and these are best set to the maximum PSI to help maintain even tread wear. Certain manufactures require a certain PSI based on the weight and load on the tires, these can be found here:

      Hello Todd,
Here’s what the experts had to say about your question:

I do not know of any “run flat” tires made for RV’s yet. These are more common for car tires. It is hard to create these for the larger tires used on RV’s and I have not heard of a company that has made them yet. The best thing to do for RV tires is to make sure there are in good shape, not older than 7 years old and don’t show sign of abnormal wear or damage.

      Sincerely,

Just bought my first used trailer. What are some key things to look over to prep for the road?

      Hello Darren,
Here’s what the experts had to say about your question:

The things to check are to make sure it is road ready. Check the tire age, pressure and treads. Look for signs of abnormal wear or damage. Checking the brakes would be very important as well. Take a test drive and make sure they grab well with a full load ready for a trip. If they don’t grab well, they may need adjusted. Also check marker lights and turn signals as well. Once you know it is road ready and safe I would further inspect the RV to make sure it doesn’t have issues. Most importantly the roof seals and check for water damage. It may be in solid shape now but if there are openings in the sealant it could create issues done the road. Also before heading out it is always good to make sure the appliances work as well. We do have a great article going over what to look for on used units that could help as well.
